Its been a while...

If you are on our email list we have been pretty good about keeping people up to date via our emails. If you are not on the list make sure to sign up!

Winter has been pretty busy for the Union with Chuck, Ryan, Matt, and Hogan out on the lakes chasing spotted bass as well as the rivers chasing big river stripers. John has been making some pilgrimages all over the place to catch stripers, bass, and even a few steelhead here and there. No one knows where Jon Sherman will be on any given week. Costello is his usual self keeping a low profile and sneaking around the delta chasing winter stripers out there… and of Course Alex is down in Sunny San Diego chasing a few winter bass but a lot of Salt Water bass as well.

For most of us it has been a mild winter so we have all been able to keep fishing and stay out on the water with rivers, lakes, and the delta remaining fishable. We need water though and hopefully we will have a wet march and April to put some snow pack down and fill up some lakes with rain and snow melt.

For CBU events are in a bit of holding pattern, like many things, for COVID to clear, calm down, or end… We have plans for a few single and multi day Bass Clinics as well as in store events at fly shops throughout CA. That said we need to wait a bit until the world opens and normalizes again. In the mean time there will be some great bass fishing this spring and summer and with the growth of fly fishing over the last year getting out on lakes and rivers chasing bass is going to be one of the few ways to get away from the masses. If the tailwaters like the Yuba, Feather, and Lower Sacramento Rivers have been any indication of the rate of growth in fly fishing then our favorite trout rivers and streams are going to be crowded this summer.
